Nandan Nilekani’s new book : Imagining India
Nandan Nilekani of Infosys is releasing his new book on November 24. Book titled Imagining India will deal will Nilekani’s ideas about India and try to resolve the India paradox. Nandan admits that he
is not a specialist in anything but have a broader viewpoint on anything about India. This book is not a biography nor is it about cricket and Bollywood. I would like to read what Mr. Nilekani has to say. Check out the video at the book’s website.
Interestingly there is a book by Ronald Inden with the same title. Google results will show Inden’s book at the top. So watch for Nilekani’s picture on the book before you order it.
MRP of the book is 699 (bata rate) but if you pre-order it online you might get 30% off from Indiaplaza. Flipkart is also offering 20% off the MRP.
Even with the discounts offered by these sites, the price of the book is little high. Given the fact that the book is about India and Indians like stuff at a low price. Future Group’s Kishore Biyani has priced his book very well at 99/-. I am not saying Nandan’s book should be priced at 99. I am saying the book should have been priced at some other 99 like a 399 or 499.
I cannot wait to get my hands on the book.

This is an excellent book. This is most relevent in the present condition for the over all progeess of India. Govt. May consider whatever can be implemented. Poor should be uplifted and brought to mainstream.
India will become a super power by our engineers providing tech support to American bosses…Nandan will settle in America with the dividend income he receives in crores and he does not pay tax like Infosys mentor the great visionary Nanden..At least Infosys will sponsor his greencard the luxury they deny to many of their employees.
Why these IT companies are lagging behind to take opportunity to spread and help IT in a large scale .So far they were depending on outsorcing only and now they should build software products and research on software like Microsoft,IBM .India is a huge market ,they need not depend on USA and western countries rather they can export their products to all the 172 developing and least developed countries .So far world economy was dominated by G-8 countries and they remain with in themself only and never bother to spread their base for marketing their products and intentionally made the products price high so that 172 developing countries never come close to their egoistic animalistic anti humanist persona .
